Gina’s life and legacy:

Gina was born in Hood River and raised in Parkdale, Portland, and Sandy, OR. She attended Sandy High School, and went on to study at Mt. Hood community college before landing a job at Bonneville Power Administration, where she met her husband, Burton in January 1980.  The two were engaged after 2 weeks and married September 6, 1980.

Gina taught her kids to read the bible and pray and told them about Jesus. She and Burton were leaders for the Awana club program at Cascade Park Baptist church for 9 years, and had a passion for seeing kids (including her own) come to Christ.  She was also a dog 4-H leader who mentored and encouraged many young people during and even after her kids were no longer in 4-H.  She loved her hobbies; dog showing, Zumba class, and spending quality time with the love of her life, Burton. She loved being a wife and teacher to her four kids, whom she homeschooled through highschool. She was presently a member of Proebstel Evangelical Free church (since 1998).  Her family and friends will remember her as being a generous, loving, compassionate soul, who made everyone she met feel special, especially when they walked into the Wheelon home. She was a light to all who knew and loved her. Into God’s arms she went, and is now alive in her new Heavenly home.
